2025 Ninth Circuit Civics Contest - Cash Prizes

The Center

Are you looking for extra credit work or an addition to your curriculum? Consider adding the 2025 Ninth Circuit Civics Contest, an essay and video contest open to high school students in grades 9-12. Either way, your students will have a great chance to practice their research, writing or video production skills. A wealth of resource materials will be available on the civics contest website, so all you have to do is assign the contest as a project.

Prompt: “When Duty Calls: Why Exercising the Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship is Important to Me.”

Winners at the local district level and Ninth Circuit level will receive cash prizes. First-place winners at the circuit level will be invited to attend part of the 2025 Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.

The contest is underway and the deadline for submission is March 7, 2025. Visit the contest website at https://www.ca9.uscourts.gov/civicscontest/ for more information, or follow the Ninth Circuit Public Information and Community Outreach (PICO) Committee at https://x.com/CourtsCommunity.
