Make Your Voice Heard: Responding to Racial Inequities in the Prison System
Sunday, January 17, 3:00-4:15pm
The Jewish teaching “Tzedek Tzedek Tirdof – Justice, justice you shall pursue” implores us to create a society built on values of fairness and equality. The criminal justice system is filled with just the opposite, as seen in issues such as racial profiling, sentencing inequities, and cash bail. Longtime advocate Kat Morgan will share her experiences working at San Quentin Prison, and how she came to do the work she does, using her voice to make an impact. For newcomers and seasoned advocates, learn how to use your strengths to combat racial injustice. We’ll share examples for taking action and practice them together! Register here.
