This online event (all are welcome!) will take place via SEGL TV on Wednesday, December 2nd (one week from today) at 12pm Eastern/9am Pacific. It features SEGL Golden Mug winner Lissa Muscatine (Hillary Clinton's longtime top speechwriter) and Jon Cayzer, who has written for Tony Blair and several top South African leaders (Cayzer spoke with our inaugural SEGL at ALA class last spring).
We are producing this event as part of our partnership with Rise, a new organization that is itself a partnership between the Rhodes Trust and Schmidt Futures. Rise, which launched this month, provides "support for life" to a select group of 15-17 year-olds who want to change the world.

Speechwriting 101: Persuasive Writing for Young Leaders
Featuring: Lissa Muscatine (USA) and Jon Cayzer (UK/South Africa)
Want to change the world? First you have to convince others to join you. In this remarkable session, you will meet two of the world's top speechwriters and learn how to persuade others with your writing.
Lissa Muscatine wrote speeches for Hillary Clinton for two decades, including her historic "Women's Rights Are Human Rights" address in 1995. Jon Cayzer has written for former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and several of South Africa's political heavyweights, including Mangosuthu Buthelezi, Helen Zille, Lindiwe Mazibuko, and Herman Mashaba. Together, they will provide priceless tips, amazing stories, and, above all, inspiring words.
Once you have the words, you need the resources to take action. That's why you'll also learn about Rise—a new global opportunity that offers support for life to young people who want to change the world. This could include scholarships, mentorship, and funding to scale up your social impact.
