Summer Researchers in Global Health is a six-week summer internship for rising high school seniors that introduces students to global health concepts and immerses them in challenging, real-life projects with researchers at UCSF. Interns receive direct mentorship from global health experts and participate in weekly case discussions and group activities led by graduate student instructors. Topics include HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, maternal health, preterm birth, climate change, COVID and emerging infectious diseases, and more. Interns with financial need may qualify for a stipend of $2,000. Download our info sheet for students.

NOTE: Both summer programs are currently planned to take place on the UCSF Mission Bay campus. However, due to changing conditions during the COVID pandemic, part or all of each program may need to move online.
